USB-C SOHO Dock

Built on the concept that more and more of us are working remotely from home the SOHO, or Small Office Home Office Dock, helps bring all of our devices together wherever we are.
This powerful bus-powered, or AC-powered dock, offers next-level Gen.2 USB-C performance.
Second Generation USB-C Dock
Unlike typical USB-C docks or hubs, the CalDigit USB-C SOHO Dock offers full 10Gb/s USB-C performance. This extra throughput allows the this dock to offer features not found in traditional 5Gb/s USB-C hubs.
Benefits of a Gen.2 Device
- Double Performance - From 5Gb/s to 10Gb/s
- Full 4K 60Hz Monitor Support
- Dual Monitor Support
- Connect Fast SSD Storage
- Support up to 100W Power Delivery to SOHO Dock.
- Support up to 90W Laptop Charging. (Power is shared by all USB ports and adjusted based on connected devices.)
Double The Performance of Gen.1
The benefits of a 10Gb/s USB-C device over a 5Gb/s device set it apart from vast amount of hubs on the market. Whether you want to take full advantage of a 4K 60Hz monitor or connect an ultra-fast SSD, the USB-C SOHO Dock has all the features you need in a small bus-powered device.
At Your Desk Or On-The-Go
The USB-C SOHO Dock has the ability to be bus-powered, making it an ideal solution for users that need to expand their connectivity on the road. This is ideal for photographers, or anyone that needs to access SD cards and USB devices in the field.
In addition the USB-C SOHO Dock’s dual video connectors and pass-through charging capability make it an ideal desktop docking solution for creative professionals looking to expand their laptop’s connectivity in an elegant solution.
Built-In Dual Monitor Connectivity
In order to really take advantage of dual monitor connectivity a 10Gb/s USB-C device is a must. Whilst traditional USB-C hubs make do with half the performance, the USB-C SOHO Dock is able to take full advantage of its 10Gb/s performance to offer dual video connectivity. Up until now dual monitor connectivity had been resigned to full-size mains powered USB-C docks. This is now available in a compact and portable device.
*macOS does not support MST (Multi-Stream Transport), a requirement in order to offer dual extended monitors via USB-C.
*Dual Mirrored Monitors are available on macOS & Windows. Dual Extended Monitors on Windows only, and Dual 4K 30Hz Extended Monitors require that your Type-C port & GPU support DP 1.4.
Single 4K 60Hz
Connecting a monitor up to 4K 60Hz to a laptop was not previously possible with a Gen. 1 5Gb/s USB-C device, which limited resolutions up to 4K 30Hz. The USB-C SOHO Dock on the other hand offers full *4K 60Hz resolution for those looking to get the most out of their 4K monitors.
*4K 60Hz requires that your USB-C port supports DP 1.4.
HDMI 2.0b & Displayport 1.4
By including both HDMI and DisplayPort connectors, users have the flexibility to connect to the type of monitor that’s best suited for them.
For any users that need to connect two HDMI or two DisplayPort monitors they can use an adapter (not included) to convert to another video connector.
Just The Right Amount of Ports
Unlike other Gen.1 USB-C hubs on the market that tend to overpromise on connectivity, the CalDigit USB-C SOHO Dock has been designed to have just the right amount of ports in order to not exceed the power output that your laptop’s USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port can provide.
It is of paramount importance to CalDigit, that when all of the ports are used at once, there are no power issues.
Pass-Through Laptop Charging
The beauty of USB-C is that it incorporates up to 100W power delivery into it’s design. This means that when you connect your laptop’s USB-C charger to the SOHO Dock it will be powering the SOHO Dock and its attached USB devices, in addition to charging your laptop.
The actual power that will be supplied to your laptop will vary based on the wattage of your USB-C charger, and how many USB devices are attached to the SOHO Dock.
This pass-through charging functionality is not only limited to laptops since the SOHO Dock will also charge the iPad Pro, Windows Tablets, and USB-C Smart Phones.
Plug & Play
The SOHO Dock is a complete plug & play solution.
Unlike many USB-C devices on the market that require drivers to connect dual displays, the SOHO Dock works right out of the box on macOS and Windows, without the stress of installing drivers.
Full Speed 10Gb/s Data Port
Anyone that has used a traditional Gen.1 USB-C hub will know that the USB ports offer limited performance capabilities. The USB-C SOHO Dock’s front-facing USB-C and USB-A data ports offer full 10Gb/s performance, double that of traditional hubs.
This means that for any users looking to connect high-performance SSD storage devices, the USB-C SOHO Dock will offer much faster speeds.
*USB bandwidth is shared by all USB ports.
Evolve Your Tablet
Not only can you use the USB-C SOHO Dock on a traditional computer, you can also use it with an iPad Pro, iPad Air (4th Gen), or Windows tablet. This allows users to connect a single 4K monitor and all the various devices that the USB-C SOHO Dock has to offer.
CalDigit deliberately added a detachable cable to the USB-C SOHO Dock as it gives customers more flexibility. By utilizing a detachable cable users are able to add longer cables, and if cables are damaged, they can be easily replaced. Docks or hubs with tethered cables cannot replace their cables and tend to generate more heat.
Dual SD Card Readers
The dual SD 4.0 and microSD 4.0 card readers both support UHS-II speeds that will significantly improve your file transfer speeds.
Anyone that has used portable USB-C hubs before knows that in order to cut costs they tend to be made from plastic that conducts heat. The CalDigit USB-C SOHO Dock on the other hand is made from high-grade aluminum that dissipates heat and is recyclable. The internal components of the device match the exterior, and are made of only the highest quality components to ensure thermal integrity and device longevity.
