2021 was an interesting year with material shortages (and to some extent, labour shortage) leading to new products being sold out quickly and re-stocks taking longer than usual.
So what's next in 2022 in the world of Apple products?
Apple Silicon Chip
Apple debuted their own M1 chip for their computers and is on track to rolling it out for the rest of their range. Whether Intel chip Macs will still stay in the line-up is a bit of a mystery.
One thing we hope is that all of their future Macs feature four lane Thunderbolt capability - it became a bit of a headache for regular M1 Mac users when they realised that most docks could not run dual displays with their machine because of this port limitation. Thankfully, Apple fixed this issue with the M1 Pro and M1 Pro Max MacBook Pros.
iPad Pro
The iPad Pro may be refreshed with an updated design and possibly include MagSafe. Whether it gets a chip upgrade remains to be seen.
iPhone
It's definitely a given that new iPhones will come out every year. This year, the SE should be getting an upgrade with 5G compatibility and the iPhone mini range may be killed off (noooo). The iPhone 14 range is expected to feature a smaller notch and camera improvements.
Apple Watch
It was rumoured last year that the Apple Watch would be completely redesigned but that didn't exactly occur (besides some minor design tweaks). This year may be the year that the Watch design is finally changed + the introduction of a new model called Apple Watch Sport.
AirPods Pro
The AirPods were updated last year and the AirPods Pro is due for an update this year. The rumours are the design will change to being stemless pods and there may be more colours this time round!
